About Lisa
Working with Lisa Cartwright has been a treat. Not only are the sessions conducted professionally but I also feel that Lisa has a unique skill of understanding her client in general. She uses a holistic approach to meet her client's needs and this is where I have found working with her to truly helpful and at times, groundbreaking. Her calm approach and quiet demeanour put me at ease and I am able to work within an environment that makes me feel comfortable to be myself, as well as be honest with her about the way in which I am experiencing something. Her ability to inject fun into the sessions make the sessions all the more enjoyable.
About the Davis® method
The Davis method has given me insights into myself that I never thought I would ever have. It has helped me understand myself better, as well as make me realise that there are strengths to the weaknesses. I am able to figure things out for myself more quickly, discover new things about the way in which I think, function and reason, as well as be able to pick out things in other people, which has helped me to find ways of understanding them and dealing with them better. The greatest joy though is knowing that I am not alone in this and that there are other people out there who speak and understand this unique language.
Stef, mother of R. now 11 years old, who has done a reading, maths, handwriting & concepts programme & we prepared him for his SATS.
When I first contacted Lisa I was very concerned about my son's lack of progress at school. He was seven but was unable to read and write at all and was becoming increasingly frustrated and aggressive and although he received extra help it was not making any difference. Lisa was calm, reassuring and patient and my son felt comfortable with her from the start. He enjoyed the Davis programme and I immediately noticed a difference in both his behaviour and attitude towards learning as well as in his progress in reading and writing. He has now been seeing Lisa regularly for four years, he has just started secondary school and achieved Level 5 in English and Science and Level 4 in Maths in his SATS.
He now enjoys reading (particularly Harry Potter and Anthony Horowitz) and his writing is neat and legible. He has made huge progress on all levels and we are both very grateful to Lisa who has helped him so very much and supported him unwaveringly throughout. We are very privileged to know Lisa and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone else whose child is not progressing at school. Thank you Lisa!

Sinead, Reception Teacher and Year Group Leader. Regarding a reading & speech programme for a boy on the Autistic Spectrum.
Lisa Cartwright worked alongside me from January 2010 to July 2010 supporting a boy in my class who has autism. Lisa fitted into our reception team very well and she was a really well liked member of the staff. She always had a very positive outlook on everything and could be relied upon to carry out tasks to a very high level.
Lisa took the initiative to develop her own programme tailored to the boy's complex needs. She kept working diaries that detailed his rapid progress during her time with him. Lisa built up a good relationship with both the boy and his parents that further enhanced his progress. She liaised effectively with many outside agencies including B.O.A.T and Speech and Language services. I would have no problem in recommending Lisa to any potential clients.
R. age 7, young learners reading programme
I used to write uppercase instead of lower case letters and I write in lower case now. My spelling has changed a lot. Before I couldn’t read anything and now I can. My handwriting is much neater then before. I can read it back now as well.
Mother of R. 7 year old son, young learners reading programme
The programme my son has received was entirely positive. It is so encouraging to find something that ‘clicks’ with the way my son is and its fascinating to witness how it all works. I have seen huge changes, his reading has improved dramatically and he has made significant progress in writing, spelling and maths. He is far more confident and less anxious and now enjoys going to school.
